Where to get the zarafa-ws alpha release

The zarafa-ws is available in our Customer Portal.

https://portal.zarafa.com/download-release/final/7.1/

See the heading Zarafa Web Services

All builds are currently delivered in one big tar file for all supported distributions.

Installing zarafa-ws on CentOS/RHEL 6

Install the python dependencies which are available.

# yum install -y pyOpenSSL python-dateutil

CentOS/RHEL 6 does not provide all the needed dependencies, instead get them from Epel repository.

Currently Epel provides these versions. (versions shown from time of writing)

# rpm -ihv http://mirror.1000mbps.com/fedora-epel/6/x86_64/python-lockfile-0.8-3.el6.noarch.rpm
# rpm -ihv http://mirror.1000mbps.com/fedora-epel/6/x86_64/python-daemon-1.5.2-1.el6.noarch.rpm

Because the zarafa-ws does not always have the same svn number as the main zarafa packages already installed we sometimes need to force the install.

# rpm -ihv --nodeps zarafa-ws-7.1.8-43059.x86_64.rpm

Installing zarafa-ws on CentOS/RHEL 5

Install the python dependencies which are available.

# yum install -y pyOpenSSL python-dateutil

CentOS/RHEL 5 does not provide all the needed dependencies, instead get them from Epel repository.

# rpm -ihv http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/5/x86_64/python-lockfile-0.8-3.el5.noarch.rpm
# rpm -ihv http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/5/x86_64/python-daemon-1.5.2-3.el5.noarch.rpm

Not a referenced dependency (yet), but it is needed on systems running python 2.4

# rpm -ihv http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/5/x86_64/python-uuid-1.30-3.el5.noarch.rpm

Because the zarafa-ws does not always have the same svn number as the main zarafa packages already installed we sometimes need to force the install.

# rpm -ihv --nodeps zarafa-ws-7.1.8-43059.x86_64.rpm

Installing zarafa-ws on Debian/Ubuntu

Install the python dependencies:

 # apt-get install python-lockfile python-daemon python-dateutil python-openssl

 # dpkg -i -- force-all zarafa-ws_*.deb

Configure Clients to connect to ZWS

The zarafa-ws package automatically installs a configuration file for Apache mod_proxy. Through this configuration file it is possible to simply connect the the standard EWS address, like for example:

 http(s)://your-hostname/EWS/Exchange.asmx

No further configuration on the server is necessary.
