Manually creating BES profiles

This article is intended to explain how to manually create the BES profiles.
This method is mainly used when the included MAPI creation tool does not work.

  • First go to Windows Start -> Control Panel -> E-mail.
  • 1. Then click Show Profiles, here click Add.
  • 2. Now fill in profile name: BlackberryServer.
  • 3. Manually configure server settings/Other server, click Next.
  • 4. Choose Zarafa server, fill in all your server details and login for the Zarafa admin user used for BES.
  • 5. Repeat steps 1 - 4 but now fill in profile name: BlackberryManager.

In order to make BES understand that these are BES profiles,
change and edit the following registry entries below with regedit.

In regedit go to -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\BlackberryServer\13dbb0c8aa05101a9bb000aa002fc45a

Here edit binary value 00036704 to 00 08 00 00.
Add string (REG_SZ) value 001e6603 with no data.
Add string (REG_SZ) value 001e6612 with no data.

Now the profiles are properly configured.
